Study on the Development of the Korean Version of Working Relationship Scale for Case Managers in the Community Mental Health Fields
Kwon Ja-Young

Abstract
This study took place to develop and verify a Korean version working relationship scale for case managers in the community mental health field. First, in order to develop the scale, a literature review and three-session FGI of case managers working in the community mental health were carried out to create preliminary questions for the working relationship scale. Second, two mental health and social work department professors and one mental health social worker reviewed and selected the final preliminary questions. Third, 166 case managers surveyed the final preliminary questions and the collected data were analyzed to verify the credibility and validity of the scale. The result of exploratory factor analysis of the collected data demonstrated four factor structures. The first factor is the cooperative relationship factor between the case manager and client; the second factor is ¡®client respect and emotional relatedness¡¯. The third factor is professional contribution, related to the case manager¡¯s professional practice; and the fourth factor is ¡®negative working relationship¡¯. Additionally, confirmatory factor analysis results also presented the four factors found in the exploratory factor analysis and the model¡¯s goodness of fit appeared to be excellent. Based on these results, a Korean version working relationship scale comprised of a final 25 questions are developed and proposed and its implications in social work are discussed.
